Marion Resident Named Top UniFirst representative in North America

Dale from Marion, Virginia wins Aldo Croatti Award
Dale Spencer, UniFirst - Marion, Virginia

Marion, Va. - It is the most coveted of all UniFirst Corporation recognitions. And out of the thousands of UniFirst route sales representatives (RSRs) in the U.S and Canada, Marion resident Dale Spencer is one of only ten who have earned this distinction for 2014. Named after UniFirst's founder, the Aldo Croatti Award is presented to those RSRs who exemplify unparalleled customer service and satisfaction while retaining 100% of their customers for an entire fiscal year.

Spencer, who works for UniFirst at its Marion location, delivers work uniforms and facility service products to 101 businesses on a weekly basis throughout the greater Marion area. He has been with UniFirst for three years.

Headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., UniFirst Corporation (NYSE: UNF) is a leading provider of customized work uniform programs, corporate attire, and facility service products to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Together with its subsidiaries, UniFirst also provides first aid and safety products, and manages protective garment programs for the cleanroom and nuclear industries.

"Dale was painfully shy when he first came on board," says UniFirst district service manager Steven Jarman. "Now he does a great job working with his customers and they all love him. We also use Dale to help train new RSRs. He is a very important team member. We thank him for all of the hard work he does."

Spencer attributed winning the award to persistence. "You have to remain committed to offering your customers great service, which means a willingness to go the extra mile and maintaining a great relationship with them. This is such an honor, but it would not have been possible without the support I receive from my UniFirst team."

Spencer resides in Marion with his wife Tanya and son Josh, and is an avid hunter and accomplished taxidermist. In the fall, he can be found cheering on Virginia Tech.

As part of his award, Spencer will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Four Seasons Resort in Maui, Hawaii, in December, where he will be personally recognized by UniFirst president and CEO Ron Croatti and other company executives.
