MEADVILLE, Pa. - It is the most coveted of all UniFirst Corporation recognitions. And out of the thousands of UniFirst route sales representatives (RSRs) in the U.S and Canada, Meadville resident William Prad is one of only ten who have earned this distinction for 2014. Named after UniFirst's founder, the Aldo Croatti Award is presented to those RSRs who exemplify unparalleled customer service and satisfaction while retaining 100% of their customers for an entire fiscal year.
Prad, who works for UniFirst at its Meadville location, delivers work uniforms and facility service products to 132 businesses on a weekly basis throughout the greater Meadville area. He has been with UniFirst for three years.
Headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., UniFirst Corporation (NYSE: UNF) is a leading provider of customized work uniform programs, corporate attire, and facility service products to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Together with its subsidiaries, UniFirst also provides first aid and safety products, and manages protective garment programs for the cleanroom and nuclear industries.
"William—JR as we call him—is a truly outstanding individual. In my life, I have yet to meet someone who matches JR's overall happy demeanor," says UniFirst branch manager Michael Farnham. "He is such a positive person that when he is in your presence it is almost impossible for his attitude to not rub off. I can assume this played a major role in him keeping every one of his customers throughout this year. He truly is one-of-a-kind and we are very lucky to have him."
Prad, who played college football for four years at Edinboro University and still plays on the weekends for the Oil Region Rampage, attributed winning the award to his continued appreciation of the importance of service. "I like my customers to understand that service is not just a word, it's a value. I try to get them to recognize that value through strong customer service skills. I am very thankful to be recognized for my hard work and dedication."
As part of his award, Prad will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Four Seasons Resort in Maui, Hawaii, in December, where he will be personally recognized by UniFirst president and CEO Ron Croatti and other company executives.
