CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - It is the most coveted of all UniFirst Corporation recognitions. And out of the thousands of UniFirst route sales representatives (RSRs) in the U.S and Canada, Corpus Christi resident Jerry Hernandez is one of only ten who have earned this distinction for 2014. Named after UniFirst's founder, the Aldo Croatti Award is presented to those RSRs who exemplify unparalleled customer service while retaining 100% of their customers for an entire fiscal year.
Hernandez, who works for UniFirst at its Corpus Christi location, delivers work uniforms and facility service products to 123 businesses on a weekly basis throughout the greater Corpus Christi area. He has been with UniFirst for 11 years.
Headquartered in Wilmington, Mass., UniFirst Corporation (NYSE: UNF) is a leading provider of customized work uniform programs, corporate attire, and facility service products to businesses throughout the U.S. and Canada. Together with its subsidiaries, UniFirst also provides first aid and safety products, and manages specialized garment programs for the cleanroom and nuclear industries.
"Jerry is a perfect example of a team player and an excellent role model for our RSRs," says UniFirst district service manager Hector Gonzalez. "He takes ownership of things, never wasting time blaming, just fixes any problems. Jerry also has a great personality and an awesome attitude." He added, "We have a great team here and the dedication from our employees is really strong. We all take the idea of 'customers for Life' to heart here."
Hernandez attributed winning the award to his ongoing attention to customer service. "I take a lot of pride in the customer service I provide, and I always make my customers my first priority and take care of their needs." He added, "I am so excited and grateful for this opportunity."
Hernandez resides in Corpus Christi with his wife Michelle, daughter Hailee (age 17) and sons Justin (age 14) and Joshua (age 6). He enjoys watching his children play sports and working in his yard.
As part of his award, Hernandez will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Four Seasons Resort in Maui, Hawaii, in December, where he will be personally recognized by UniFirst president and CEO Ron Croatti and other company executives.
