Our Commitment to Privacy
Information We Collect
When you visit our Web site you may provide us with two types of information: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis and Web site use information is collected on an aggregate basis as you browse the Web site.
Our web servers collect only the domain or "IP address" of visitors. The data is not shared with anyone other than UniFirst's affiliates and contractors who assist UniFirst efforts and who are bound to confidentiality.
Domain name information that we collect is not generally used to personally identify you and instead is aggregated to measure such things as the number of visits, average time spent on the site, pages viewed, etc. We use this information to measure the use of our site and to improve the content of our site.
If you register on a UniFirst web store to make purchases certain personal information is required to fulfill your order. When you supply us with you personal information to order a product, the information you provide will be added to our customer master file. This allows us to process and fulfill your order. For example you would need to provide the following information:
- Mailing address, so the carrier can deliver
- Email address, for order confirmation
- Credit card number if you do not have A/R terms
- Home and business phone number
- Other personal information (i.e. mother's maiden name), so a password can be assigned to youAll of your personal information is user id and password protected.
If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.
Web Site Use Information
Similar to other commercial Web sites, our Web site utilizes a standard technology called "cookies" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") and Web server logs to collect information about how our Web site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our Web site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after our Web site. This information is collected on an aggregate basis. None of this information is associated with you as an individual.
How We Use the Information You Provide to Us
